I love how this song will always inspire millions of us who have never even been near West Virginia into the most sincerely nostalgic, heart warming, tear jerking, yeehaw comfort we've ever had in our lives.

The dancing frogs singing & tilting their heads up was the best part about this video.

It’s such a simple animation and the sound design and vocals give this so much depth. Love that people are embracing swamp environments in art; they’re criminally underrated.

This is without a doubt the most serene rendition of Country Roads I have ever heard. Also, the river setting is also very fitting and unique to the usual country and road imagery you normally get with this song.

Like if the original version is all about being excited to come home, this is about being there, tranquil and safe, content with yourself and nature around you.

So Shar can animate masterpieces and sing like an angel? Some people just got it all. Respect.

Fun Fact: “Take Me Home, Country Roads” - by John Denver got international fame after the 1995 Studio Ghibli film, “Whisper of the Heart”. The song became an instant classic in Japan and can be found in many pieces of media around the world. It is beloved by many; Especially those in West Virginia, and Japan.

My grandfather died years ago, and we the whole family had to go to his hometown, escorting his body along the way, by car. And it was a VERY LONG TRIP, which took an entire day, from early morning the previous day, to early morning the next day.

Throughout the whole trip, I listened to Country Roads on repeat, and the sight of the wilderness around us accompanied by the timeless classic song, as well as the fact that we are bringing back my grandfather back to his hometown to rest, really made me cry a few times throughout the trip.

We don't even live in West Virginia, or even the US, but the spirit of this song has always been a universal one, it's the spirit of returning home to where you belong once more, wherever it may be.

This is probably the most peaceful listen to “country roads” humanly possible

"Life is old there, older than the trees, younger than the mountains" is quite literal.
The Blue Ridge mountains, part of the Appalachian range, formed around 1 billion years ago. That's 630 million years before trees first evolved, and indeed even before the first complex multicellular plants and animals existed. Macroscale life is literally younger than those mountains
