You uploaded this today on my birthday. Just turned 28 today, let’s go! This is my first birthday living many hours away from family and friends. Feels weird because I spent the day reflecting on my life and the areas of my life I want to better myself in. Parties can be fun, but today was for sure a unique one. I truly enjoyed it. Solitude is a completely different thing than loneliness. I've been practicing solitude for the last few years. Yes, it's something we have to practice, bc society programs into you that you should celebrate, get married, have kids, that formal education is the way to go, etc...all the stuff that's not even necessary when most of us just need to focus inward and get our minds right before any of that will even feel like a milestone or accomplishment.

My birthday will be in a couple of hours. What Jack talks about had been my life for years. Lonely birthdays and not even a birthday wish from my 'best friends', they did not care enough to remember. It made me so cynical about friendships that I went Lone Wolf and shunned people, because I realized I had no real friends, just 'people cool to hang with'.

After one of those lonely birthdays I decided upon a one year endeavor of trying to find and create real friendships. And last year, for the first time in my life, I got a birthday wish from a friend. Birthday wishes from three friends to be exact. And after all those lonely years, those wishes brought tears to my eyes man. I am so grateful for having these people in my life, because up until now they have proven to be REAL FRIENDS.

Thank you for the words. I recently became 18, in May. I celebrated the 'most important' birthday with my parents and nobody else. Honestly ?
