Soldier 76 was at one point the Leader of Overwatch Jack Morrison. When Overwatch was shut down and their headquarters attacked and blown up, it was believed he died inside. Pretty much living on rage and resentment now, he's gone full Vigilante with a bit of a lean towards justice by any means rather than by the book. Hence when asked why he saved her he replied with "Old habits die hard I guess."

Note about the Visor: It's a tactical visor, and the way he used it in the short is essentially how it's used in the game. It's a super-ability with a long cooldown that basically gives him a few seconds of auto-aim - if there's a target on the screen, you don't need to aim at them, the game will just shoot at them automatically.

I know it's been a whole year but I haven't seen anyone mention that the poster Alejandra looks at at the start of the cinematic and then takes home at the end is a poster of Jack/Soldier 76 when he was younger during the Overwatch days.

It may already have been mentioned or you may already know, but there's a bunch of shorter backstory ones called "Origins", including one for this guy (Soldier 76). They can help give some additional background on some of the characters seen in the shorts. Glad to see another Overwatch video from you guys though! Can't wait for when you see "Dragons" and "Honor and Glory"

When designing characters, one if the original creators showed a comic series he was drawing/writing behind the scenes. Soldier 76 was designed based off of the main character from that comic. So his comic (which was just a hobby) is forever a main character in such a big game

Really really enjoying your reactions. You may want to try "Warhammer 40, 000 The New Edition Cinematic Trailer" Warhammer universe is immerse and solid reputation as being a grim-dark, high-gothic genre. Pretty darn good overall. Also "Astartes" a video series created by one man is fairly famous due to it's insane quality and dedication. Heck he even hired by GW (parent company of warhammer)
