Gruden definitely deserves to be in the conversation. You guys forgot to even mention Hard Knocks

Give it to gruden. Roster turned from nothing into something, and he has the chance to make the playoffs in his second year. He's turned nobodys into all stars and he ain't even finished yet

My pick is Matt Patricia, dude is doing such an AMAZING JOB here in Detroit. 2 yrs in a row now we threw to the season away only half way through the season. He’s such a great coach guys, like were going to have back to back Top 10 picks again in next yrs draft. Maybe this yr though we can draft a FB or Kicker in the 1st since those positions are game changers like the TE we drafted last yr.

Gruden... no brained. Who the heck thought they would possibly be 7-4 in week 13?! Exactly.

gruden is easily in the top of this convo. they were expected to win 3-4 games and they are currently in the wildcard spot. no brainer

Nobody here talking about Matt Lafleur... a rookie coach that is FAR exceeding expectations. A guy who has brought his team wins in different ways. A guy who got all that stupid bad press with the Aaron Rodgers relationship BS and came through it flawlessly. :/

Dude wants to say the Raiders play the last place schedule, but doesn't want to admit they had the toughest one leading up to it. Another example of a guy trying to undercut the Raiders lol. Pathetic.

It's funny how they pounce on kolton Miller as a bad pick. Same as Ferrell. Abraham is not a burn pick he got hurt. He will be an impact next year.

Funny how 1 week yall are saying the Raiders whiffed on a bunch of picks and then the next week everyone is talking they are the best rookie class in 10 years. 🤦‍♂️

Not even a mention of LaFleur and green bay going 8-2 with a new headcoach.

Matt Lafleur is 8-2 going into the bye week. Only needs 2 wins to be in the major thick of wildcard contention.

The Raiders? filling out the 6th seed in the playoffs? They were only picked to win 5 games all year.

1. John Harbaugh
2. Kyle Shanahan
3. Jon Gruden

Sean Payton and the Saints have had so many injuries at key positions, most notably their HOF QB, but here they are at 9-2. He should certainly be in the conversation.

Give it to Chucky. Thought the raiders would be a joke this year, didn't like any of the first round picks- still not sure I do bit to be second in that division with a chance to win it is incredible. Would have been Payton due to the results with Teddy B but I think has ruined it rushing Brees back

Gruden started the the season with a crappy schedule and expectations were low. Raiders could win AFC west or at least wild card spot.

Hands down Gruden. Because of his decision to bring someone who everybody had doubts about with no GM experience (Mayock) and to hit on almost all of the draft picks. The AB saga, the Burrifect suspension, all the injuries on defense. If they somehow were to manage a win in KC (I know, it's BIG if) then just hand the award to him right there and then. Or if they get to 10 wins also give it to him. At the start of the season 5 wins was all they were predicted to get.

Starting expectation is a stupid criteria. It needs to be considered, yes, but as the number one criteria or a significant part? No. That’s like CFB preseason rankings.

Even the Patriots winning year in and year out is huge. Many coaches can’t do that. This from someone who extremely dislikes the Patriots. Or even coaches getting even greater seasons out of their players/team. For instance, before the injury, Mahomes was on pace to get 6, 000 passing yards.

Some teams have lost their QBs. Some teams have had a host of injuries. For example, the Chiefs half lost half of their games while without 25% or more of their starters. Take away the NFL MVP for games and still win? That’s significant. That says a lot about Sean Payton.

Sometimes teams lose a significant player and then that player is back the next season so the team looks better (Jimmy G & 49ers).

Sometimes the schedule is easier or tougher. How can strength of schedule not factor in?

To me, strength of schedule and overcoming adversity have to be the top two criteria for making the choice. Underperforming teams (a team with a slew of injuries or “potent” injuries can’t be underperforming) can eliminate you, but over-performing? Based off of what? Somewhat insignificant preseason rankings?

To me, right now, coaches I think should be in this discussion: Belichick, Reid, Payton, Carroll, Reich, Grudens, & John Harbaugh. Not sure where I’m at with LaFleur.

How are more people not saying Shanahan? He's my pick, personally
