It's difficult to find words to describe the powerful feelings that this song, the lyrics, the story, the music, brings to one. It truly makes you feel that sense of loss and longing one would feel for a loss of someone so dear and special, so loved. Beautiful song. It literally brings tears to my eyes.

Hauntingly beautiful, even if there are a few lyrics I wouldn't subscribe to. Christopher Cross had a few lovely songs and I think I'd place this one on top, above even Arthur's Theme and Sailing. Very probing.

OMG!!! Christopher Cross is a part of the sound track of my life! I just knew this song with those lyrics just brings a flood of emotion, tears included! I can relate to the loving memory of Miss Laura Carter taken away so young, as my Mom was taken away when I was but 14. Think Of Laura is inspired by a true event it's based on Denison University Lacrosse player Laura Carter who lost her young life on April 17th 1982 at the tender age of 18 while riding in the backseat of her parents rental car. Her parents were in town for Homecoming and watching her play Lacrosse. She was struck by a stray bullet fired over a block away as 4 men were having an altercation over a drug war turf near Broad street in Downtown Columbus, Ohio. Christopher Cross got to know Laura as his then Girlfriend Paige was her Roommate and Sorority Sister and Cross built a wonderful relationship with Laura through the years when he and Paige were dating, Laura Carter was from Wayne, Pennsylvania and was a Freshman at Denison University in which is located 30 miles east of Columbus. She was a Lacrosse player in High School in Pennsylvania and Denison University had one of the best Lacrosse programs in the Country at that time. Think Of Laura is taken from the 1983 Album Another Page actually inspired by his Girlfriend Paige who can be found on the Album Sleeve sitting on a stool staring out towards the camera. So Think Of Laura was written by Christopher Cross in memory of Laura Carter and also a way to comfort Paige during her rough times after losing her dear friend Laura Carter and Sorority Sister.
