Heating your home during a power outage or to boost an existing system is simple. Just follow this simple step by step method of making a DIY heater that will heat an entire room in minutes. These micro heaters can be stored for years until one is needed during an emergency. In larger rooms four of them running simultaneously can heat even large rooms. No special skills are needed to assemble and maintain. An Important note is to only use them if you have proper safety equipment and monitoring systems in place. The cost of running them is extremely low and the build cost is only dollars per heater.

After suffering through a Winter with no heat, electricity, or water, I now have PTSD about it happening again. The fear is overwhelming at times. Even though I'm fine now, I still have nightmares about that time in my life. After watching this video and a few others of yours, my anxiety and fear have diminished a great deal. I actually cried after watching this. I literally lost my job after being ill for a year, went through my savings to keep from going into foreclosure, and endured so many more nightmarish situations. One of the coldest winters in Detroit history and I had no utilities to keep me warm. I burned EVERY book in my extensive library, furniture, clothes, scavenged wood scraps around my neighborhood, you name it. This would've saved me a lot of cold and terrifying nights. I saw the video with the heater and the fan. I've now got everything I need if anything happens again. I ordered the fan right away. I went to Home Depot and bought EVERYTHING on your list. I tested out your invention and boy oh boy, it got hot in my house in about an hour. I couldn't believe it. PLEASE continue to do what you do!

as a seasoned mechanic I can add to your project by suggesting you buy a step bit instead of that paddle bit. it would make a cleaner hole and you can use high temperature RTV instead of JB Weld because it remains flexible and heat proof. Great project especially for a greenhouse.

For anyone asking how to extinguish the flame. Use a glass, ceramic, or metal cup that is deep enough to encapsulate the wick and pipe and a diameter that would be less than the lid. Set it upside-down on the lid. The flame will go out in seconds. To keep it from evaporating or being flammable when you don't want it to be, you'll need some sort of lid that will seal around the jar lid.

This was like watching Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood when I was a kid.

Such patience and detailed explanations. Thank you very much!

A little salt in denatured alcohol makes the flame orange and visible in daylight.

It's funny how many people are fixated on the fact you used the wrong bit... the way i see it is improvising.. not everybody has the tools. I love this. Thank you for sharing!

Excellent tutorial. Explains everything like it is the first time we have done this and leave nothing to chance. I did the shortening, candle heater and clay pot water filter. Got the water filters kit online and the clay pots work really well. Miners, aka Ace has clay pots from Italy and Germany all sizes.5 stars. Home depot clay pots only the big ones from Italy. You are doing a super job. I am 80 and appreciate your sharing and caring. Going to get copper piping at home depot and give this a try. thanks again.

Copper Oxide is a big problem above 350 degrees F. You can avoid this in a couple of ways.
1. Use Brass pipes - but the heat conductivity is up to 75% lower.
2 Use High Heat paint (like Rustoleum) to cover the copper pipes. Lowers heat conductivity only about 5%
3. Use Cerakote High-Temp Ceramic Coatings. Minimal heat loss at twice the temperature

Remember to let the coatings cure completely according to manufacturers instructions to eliminate VOCs.
Always use proper ventalation and CO detectors.

Love your Bonsai trees !
My neighbour had a business growing them, he was so successful he had to move into smaller premises.

I literally said 'JB Weld', when you said there's a product to patch the metal gash. You get this old man's 'seal of approval'.

I’m absolutely making these. We had power outages up to a week this last winter storm! ❄️ These would have been perfect! 🤩

Great video. 2 quick questions. 1. How do you put it out, (turn it off). 2. How long does the fuel in the jar last. Really thinking of making one of these. Thanks again
