Several years ago, while paying for fuel at a gas station in Sedro-Woolley, Washington, I had a short conversation with the older man behind the counter, who had a handgun in a holster on his hip and had noticed my Alberta licence plate. He said that when Benjamin Franklin said "It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority." It wasn't just Americans that need to fight, but he meant you Canadians too! He wasn't trying to offend, but it was evident by his tone that he was clearly trying to pass on some wisdom he thought was important. While I was flattered by the inclusion of Canada in the fight for liberty, it wasn't something I felt was too relevant at the time.

Well, it's been about 7 years and this brief interaction with the clerk at the gas station was more profound than I ever gave it credit for.

Trudeau has vilified protesters and made this a personal fight. With the invocation of the Emergencies Act, he has given himself powers to punish protesters and freeze the bank accounts of anybody who donates money to them.

This isn't just another Trudeau scandal. This is a very serious abuse of power. These are not the actions of a leader, they are the actions of a tyrant who is champing at the bit to punish everyone who dared to disagree with him. These are the things a dictator clinging to power in Eastern Europe does, not a first world democratically elected leader.

This isn't about vaccinations, masks, racism, or any of that anymore. Trudeau has done the unthinkable and it's time he step down before his divisive politics escalate the situation further.

That guy at the gas station all those years ago was downright prophetic.

On February 14, 2022, at the urging of Biden Trudeau invoked martial law against peaceful protesters in the Freedom Convoy. Trudeau's move drew massive criticism and condemnation on social media from the public, while in response, the truckers in Ottawa announced that they will not back down from Trudeau (in spite of his threats to illegally freeze their assets and crowdfunding support and revoke their insurance for standing up to him and his diktats or give in to his illegal power grab. Polls showed Trudeau's approval ratings at 16%.

The message is clear. Trudeau is acting outside of the law, has declared war on Canadians and they should act accordingly.
