Any person may arrest without a warrant ....

This is a brief overview of when you can make a citizen's arrest under section 24 Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE). This is different from a police arrest and has strict limitations. There are also risks associated with it that you should consider before deciding to take action. A citizen's arrest can only be made for an indictable offence that is in progress or that you reasonably believe someone is committing.

You may only use reasonable force and must take the person to a Magistrate or police officer to make the arrest valid.

Blocking someone's driveway --:-
21/09, 18:07
With huge pressure on street parking, occasionally motorists push their luck, sometimes blocking access to driveways. Unfortunately the law is sometimes written to favour morons and douchebags. If someone parks on the road blocking your driveway, it’s a civil matter and the police usually won’t be interested. However, if you vandalise the car, they will be interested and you will be the one charged.

The first step, though is to call your local council. Some councils will issue tickets to people that park where there is a dropped kerb (i.e. where the kerb height is lower to allow people to drive in and out of the driveway.

The Highway Code states that a car cannot cause an obstruction to the road, but doesn’t include private land. If it is causing an obstruction on the road you can call your local authority and have it towed. The Highway Code does say “Do not stop or park in front of an entrance to a property” in rule 243 but this is purely advisory. If it said “Must not…” then it would be against the law.

Similarly the law says it is illegal to block or stop a thief (with your stolen goods) from leaving your property
Barrny UK law favours wrongdoers😆

You should cover the public arrest of the police constables on duty

Be careful; the police are very territorial & don't want non-police doing their job; they'd be more likely to find something to pin on you - it's easier to arrest a non-criminal than an actual criminal.
Don't think about reporting a crime against you as, again, they may fit you up with something for bothering them when they're 'busy' looking for hurty words online. They attempted this with me &, as a consequence, if I saw an officer on fire I'd have to walk-on by as I wouldn't want to waste my piss.

Do sporting events have special rules that once a player is sent off or fined for a professional foul, headbutt, elbow in the face etc.. then the law won't take the matter any further, so you cant be allowed to make a citizen's arrest for such an action?

It can be a minefield for the 'Citizen, ' once had a bloke dragged in the front office, for littering, its not that uncommon in parking disputes too lol..unless it's mega serious and / or ongoing perhaps ..call Old Bill..or some back up !

Gamekeepers it always used to be under very arcane act of parliament from the 19th century the gamekeepers had the right of arresting poachers is the law still in place or has it been repealed?

Isn’t there something under the criminal law act so it doesn’t have to be indictable 🧐

Whenever anyone tries to explain citizens arrest to me from any country, im american, I always picture plane incidents where everyone duck tapes an unruly passenger. Probably not applicable on a 1:1 but I figure you need to be in a position where you have no access to an authority to really start considering action.

I would like to know that if a constable is off duty, does he become a private citizen and can he therefore only carry out a citizen's arrest?
