Badger claws are better than wolverine claws

As per Wikipedia's article:
"Marvel Comics editor-in-chief Roy Thomas asked writer Len Wein to devise a character specifically named Wolverine, who was a Canadian of small stature and with a wolverine's fierce temper."

Roy wanted a character named Wolverine cause it was short, angry, and Canadian. Be glad he didn't demand he be called the Canadian Goose.
