I have said this before, and I stand by it. calling something like this a "survival" kit is not only misleading but quite dangerous. anyone that could survive in an emergency situation with this "kit" could do so just as well with out it. this could be an EDC comfort kit, but seriously, this has nothing of real value as a survival kit. the danger is that people with no training, and no experience outside of the comforts of modern life see this, build one like it, and assume they are safe until they DO get lost or stuck somewhere, pull this out, and expect it to save them. to qualify as a survival kit, it must at bare minimum have shelter, the ability to make a fire from raw, found materials, the ability to purify/filter, AND carry water, and the ability to effect self rescue either by signaling for help, or navigating to a safe destination. the first and foremost element to ANY of these things is knowing how to use the equipment you carry. having the best equipment in the world can't help if you do not know how to use it. but even the best trained person needs those elements I listed above to alter their situation in a positive manner. I have no affiliation with the Pathfinder school, nor am I a Dave Canterbury fan boy, but the list he puts out there the " 10 "C"s of survivability" is actually a very good place to start with building a kit. I have made a modified version of that ( I did a video on it on my channel) that has everything you really need in a kit ( I added a couple things not in the 10 Cs) and even with water in the bottle it weighed less than 10 lbs, was easy to grab And carry, and with just a little training, and practice actually WOULD assist you in surviving. I grew up on a farm, went camping and hunting from a very young age, and spent 10 years in the ARMY, a lot of that in very bad places around the world. seeing people pretend that an Altoids tin will save their lives really grates on my nerves. I use these tins all the time, to hold components of real kits.

These tins are so small i usually do a dedicated first aid kit or fire kit in them. But then again i usually wear a smock parka and it can contain thirty times the gear you can fit in these per pocket. But for an all-round kit you did a great job.
