We get that here in Phoenix every summer. It can get rough at times. 5% humidity helps make it tolerable though.

We should work to make these crises decrease . First we plant more more and more trees second we control our population growth .

It's been hot and humid here in Thailand (Chiang Mai) also, though normally this time of year. After 2 years, we finally were able to have our group festive ascent of Doi Suthep Mountain for Visakkha Buccha (Vesak or the Buddha's birthday/death day/Englightenment Day). I went only 3 km or so up to the Wat Phalad meditation temple, as usual, but it was as cool there as in the Very Cool meeting room in the basement floor of Kad Suan Kaew shopping mall (where the air con is so strong that you usually need a jacket after 5 pm!) And this showed me how much difference trees and other plants make...it was the trees and plants, not the elevation, that made the difference. If we had not cut down so many trees, we would not need air conditioning and fans! This can be seen also in the difference in temperature between the eastern side of the city, with the Ping River and fort, which was developed about 1000 years ago and all the trees were mostly stripped from the area, and the western side of the city, with the university, that was developed less than 100 years ago, but in a more environmentally friendly manner, so many of the trees and bushes were left standing when buildings were built.

During the hard COVID national lockdown in mid-March thru the end of June 2020, all public air-con places were closed, as were most places with fans. However, I had to spend the hottest part of each day outside, if I were to receive donation food given in the queues at the hottest times of day (11 am or 12 noon for lunch and 4 or 5 pm for dinner), with no time to go home in between as I do not have a vehicle and most public transport was also taken away. So if it had not been for the shade trees in the Old City area, especially the ones around the ancient temples, then I could not have managed the 4 to 5 hours in between those times. Despite being well-traveled and having spent a lot of time in less developed countries, that was the first time in my life ever to have to spend long periods of time during the heat without access to fans or air conditioning.
