I think "Doing the right projects" was my problem this year. This past year i touch alot of products in my company creating new small features. The problem is that i didn't go deep into one single product, so at my year end review i didnt have a grandiose showcase. Just a bunch of smaller features scattered many products.

Thanks a lot Smok, for this great video.

I can clearly notice almost all of what you're talking about, exactly happens to me, maybe because I am still a junior, not completed 12 months yet, and I don't ask my TL or speak with him about a promotion. just tried to ask for some promising tasks

I have another concern about Projects,
most of what I work on are not promising enough, I build APIs everyday, sometimes played a bit with Elasticsearch to retrieve data, sometimes with messaging brokers like RabbitMQ

[BUT] still I feel like the things I do, are not promising, and all the hard tasks and stuff in the deep details of the businesses are assigned to Seniors !!

Could you please advise us with some side projects that we can work to expand our knowledge, for a future promotion ?

for me i think one of the reason is that i'm only a 2 year graduate... I think one of the reason for promotion is having a degree :)

Great video Smok, useful and entretaining as always.

I am now in a weird situation, and although it seems promising I sometimes feel like it is a trap.

I've been in my current company for 10 months, and during that time my "profesional popularity" there has skyrocketed (we are 70 employees). I'm responsible of the majority of "business core projects" and the higher ups always say nice things to me.

I was expecting a promotion (now i saw it is too early) and I was given an unofficial one, where I get all the responsability and none of the perks.

I think It is a prior step to a real promotion and I am happy about that, but I am really confused about this situation and I dont want to be taken advantage of.

5 years never happend so hmmm I am always meeting my deadlines, due to team structure cant even put my hands on projects just do what They tell me to do as I am level 1 not level 2, so how do I do project if they dont put me on one due to theris excuses.... time to move I guess.
