My name is Jens Larsen, Danish Jazz Guitarist, and Educator. The videos on this channel will help you explore and enjoy Jazz. Some of it is how to play jazz guitar, but other videos are more on Music Theory like Jazz Chords or advice on how to practice and learn Jazz, on guitar or any other instrument.

The videos are mostly jazz guitar lessons, but also music theory, analysis of songs and videos on jazz guitars.

Can we just take a moment to acknowledge the amazing amount of stellar editing Jens is doing?!?! These videos are top notch. Just goes to show the care and love he puts into every video his audience. Cheers Jens. Oh and what are talking about.... I talk to my metronome all the time!

Jens, hello from Kansas City, Missouri. I'm a multi instrumentalist and what always works for my students is the same thing that worked for me years ago. Rhythm and Phrasing exercises. As you well know, in Jazz, Rhythm and Phrasing are just as important as the actual notes. Sometimes even more important. Outstanding content as always. You truly have one of the best Jazz Guitar YouTube channels. Thanks again.

As a beginner, information overload have always been my no.1 obstacle. So many things to learn to the point I quit learning last year. Since the end of April, I'm back to learning jazz. Currently learning Autumn Leaves and I'm doing good so far. Currently practicing comping rhythm & done some transcribing after avoiding it for a long time.

I had this party trick that I used to love to do back when you could have people get together and stuff. I'd bring 2 guitars, put a guitar in someone's hand (who I knew didn't play) and I had them play something simple on the low E string, and I'd play around what they were doing. The feeling of being able to play and interacting with another player was so much fun for them that they'd immediately want to learn to play, just to get that feeling back again. So motivation to me is like a seed that you plant, and you just watch it grow.

I often look at your channel, and what me makes moore efficient in practice is, to set Goals . Chord. Changes / Outlining Solos / Apreggio Exercise / Diatonic Exercise/ So your Videos contain it all. I am not a Youngster, a lot of work to do in Jazzguitar. Thank You

Thanks Jen, of all the YouTube teaching opps I’ve seen, you’re is the one that resonates with me and so I am leaning on you to get to the next level in what I feel is a truly organic and really personal way!

Great points. The information overload discussion definitely resonated with me as I tend to clutter my head with too many different approaches and end up not having any clear pathways forward. It took me to first become aware of it and then consciously decide where to get the bulk of my information from, which is mainly this channel and my teacher. Obviously other things will come up here and there that will help you but I think it's smart to "trim the fat", so to speak, when deciding where your main sources of information come from.

Hey Jens! As I sit here at 1:30AM in California unable to sleep (or play my 335) because of a pinched nerve in my neck - I thank you for posting this and giving me something to enjoy! Take care sir!

Brilliant Jens!
Not really a Jazz player here though I do use a lot of the phrasing and finding you here has given me more phrases to plunder, a big heartfelt thanks for this and the other vids!
