That's quite a difference between the videos for what you get paid per view. A video with millions more views than another can earn you a lot less, I guess that would make it very hard to rely on a regular income from YouTube.

I've literally just started trying to do some videos of my own, so a long way to go before I can monetise it. But that's not the reason for doing it, it's to try and get more confident sharing my ideas with the world. I think having that kind of mindset, that doing social media content is just as much for the fun as it is a potential future income source can make it less stressful than having expecations that don't get met.

But that's just how I can see it as a newbie, for profesionnal musicians it is already difficult to make decent money from music, hence why getting partnerships for software & hardware, running courses like Brandon etc. can be important and platforms like YouTube are helpful with that but being able to get a consistent income from videos that take talent, years of practice and expensive equipment to produce is a reasonable expecation I think and it's a shame when that doesn't come to fruition with no rhyme or reason why one video does poorly compared to another.
