SA never gets boring there's so much to do . If you love water and hills SA has it all. Top beaches are around 2 1/2 hours away. CC is even closer if the city beach is all you need. Close to Austin and Houston. To live in Texas is a privilege.

43 years ago I was a 16 year old kid with my first few days of accumulated vacation time. I spent a week in S.A. I stayed in a Motel 6. On the Sunday before Thanksgiving, I visited a church. I told the people there that I was vacationing from my home town near Dallas. One old man told me to ask them if I needed any thing. I realized that it was Thanksgiving and I was away from home. I mentioned that, and they invited me to share Thanksgiving in their home. That was a wonderful gift of hospitality. As I finished visiting them on Thursday, the matron of the house told me the price. I was to haul a bag of clothes back home with me and give them to her son in my home town.

Thanks for the vid. Visiting on tomorrow for a few days. I'm 38, live in New Orleans, but just looking to start over somewhere else. Should be a good visit. I'm excited as I've never been to SA.

H-E-B being on the list is not silly at all and I am happy that this is on your list because it really is one of the best things we have here.

I certainly have to agree with your first pro. The people in San Antonio are so authentically hospitable, love to laugh and have a good time, but also have a quiet humility about them. I've lived and traveled fairly extensively and I've never found a city whose inhabitants are more pleasurable to be around than San Antonians. Great video 👌

Con #1 venomous snakes! As a boring midwesterner looking to move, dangerous snakes and spiders are definitely a concern.

I do miss San Antonio at times. It's a big city with a small town feel. Raised my kids there. We lived in SA for 15 years before moving to the Houston area.

I live in Los Angeles, I am just starting to think to move to Texas. Only because of home prices and over population in LA. I'm a Los Angeles native and LA is not even close to what it was 20 years ago.
I'd like to visit San Antonio just to check it out. What places should I visit?

I was born and raised here and the city has been changing, its one of the fastest growing city in American.

I agree with the #1 con that San Antonio only has the Spurs, just understand that there are two reasons we don't have an NFL team: Jerry Jones and the McNair family in Houston. These people will never allow the NFL to expand here, it's a money issue. The same thing can be said for MLB, the cities of Dallas and Houston don't want to lose potentially one million fans who will stop buying merchandise, coming to games, etc.

Thanks for the info sir. I'm buying a home there. I've been there a few times... including BMT. I'm retired Air Force. Currently living in Sacramento, CA paying 2100/mo for a 2 br 2 ba apartment smh. I retired from Travis AFB, CA. Gotta get out of CA.

Glad you love HEB; they have a strangle hold on supermarkets here. Diversity lacking: no major Asian supermarket. We've been waiting 18 years for one and have watched Austin bypass us.

I was born in Dallas, but grew up in the Chicago metro. I wanted to move to San Antonio after technical school and then move back home to Illinois. But the allergies got me (I also can’t shake the home feeling of Illinois). San Antonio would be somewhere I visit in the far future. Illinois, along with the Midwest in general is just home though.

the property taxes in Texas are 2 to 2.5 time higher than most of the USA!

Eventhough we do not have a NFL team, the UTSA Roadrunners do play college football. This year was a very extrodinary year for the team. It was the first time in the programs 10 year existence that they were nationally ranked.

The military aircraft is NOT a con! They are pretty good at keeping the noise down and the C-5 flies right over my house nearly everyday. To me it's a huge pro.

I couldn't find your Facebook page. Would love to chat with somebody from San Antonio to learn more. I'm currently in Myrtle Beach and considering a change. I have some family in San Antonio and of course their reason for me moving is "them", but I'm looking to learn more. Anybody recently move there?

Thank you for the info, appreciate. Does it snow there? Where is the best place to buy a house, Northeast or Northwest?
