What I like about your reviews is nothing ever really feels malicious about you. Your criticisms always seem fair and I like that you actually engage with your audience. I found you because of your Mass Effect series, and considering the Mass Effect trilogy is one of my favourite franchises of all time I found your review fair and actually it kinda changed my perception of how someone who played these when they first came out can be different from someone who played them for the first time when the Legendary Edition dropped.

As an older video games' player, a change that happened already quite some time ago and that I noticed,
is that I can almost enjoy watching other people playing a title I never played as much as if I was playing it myself.

That's always been the case for games I had already played and enjoyed directly.
But I can vividly remember how I got that ever-growing itch when I played with friends as a teenager (and as an "extended" teenager, for some years).
We alternated at the controller or keyboard, when one of us was actually playing and the others were "couch-playing", as they say: 15 to 20 minutes, depending on the game, and then the next in line got his time at actual direct gameplay.
Well, it usually came the moment, at a certain point, when someone ended up wrestling away the controls from a friend who had "forgotten" how his shift was supposed to have a limited time (all in good friendly spirit, of course), and I, as everybody else, could hardly wait for my turn.
Nowadays I would have no problem staying on the couch for a whole gaming afternoon, as I proved to myself several times by watching whole playthroughs on Twitch or on Youtube.

Thanks for your videos!

I’m baffled that people want a more direct negative conclusion- the internet has so many of those! I really enjoy your outlook. Balance and nuance are wonderful on the receiving end of reviews.

Honestly, the fact that you don't outright trash a game for the things you don't like is literally the main reason I enjoy watching your videos and remain interested in your opinions on what you decide to play. So thanks for the thoughtfulness in that regard, Mort.

This man is a top tier reviewer. His video’s almost have a podcast feel: you can listen while doing almost anything:)

Your content is:
Reflection > Dogma
evidence > opinion
eloquence > hate

You can be brutally honest and point out problems in amazing games while also recognizing value in mediocre ones.
Talking about value, your mention to the price tag is essential to your well calibrated scale. In the end, it's a product and we are buyers.

We wanna know:
a) Is it worth our time?
b) Is it worth the money it asks?

Powerful, balanced and refreshing gig for a very frenzied media scenario.

Thanks a bunch

I have been playing video games since I was 8, many years after I still play them, and probably that feeling of wonder I felt every new game as a kid/teenager is harder to find. However, some games become so unique and special to me that I get that awesome sensation again. I love this videos because you talk about your process, the approach and how you experience it. It's enriching and entertaining, hugs.

Mort is basically the Lock Picking Lawyer of video games: intelligent, thoughtful, concise, and can 100% a From Software game without breaking a sweat.

your reviews are always so in depth and helpful, but theres plenty of channels to find that type of content on, what really makes me come back here time and time again is just that you seem like such a nice guy, and listening to you talk about games remind me in a lot of ways of having a conversation about what to buy or not buy with a friend. hope you have a good day and all that man

I believe your reviews are more honest and thoughtful than many others I have viewed. Even if I do not want to play a particular game it provides an insight that I may not get from other sources. Especially because you are dedicated to 100% playing a game I find that amazing!

Absolutely love your reviews lad, I often just put on a review of your and just listen while I’m doing something I like hearing your thoughts on things

Been really enjoying your unbiased and honest reviews. I think you understand that games as a whole are always subjective, everyones likings are different which is why I really dig this channel. Also really like these off topic videos, letting us know of your experiences or year reviews. Keep it up!

Great post! I've been playing computer games since 1985, and I love gaming, but now that I'm older, I tend to focus on one game at a time and when I find one I like I tend to play it almost exclusively for a long time. Your reviews definitely help me weed out games that I don't want to bother with and focus on games that I know I will probably enjoy, based on your review.
As far as difficult games go, I suggest you try Darkest Dungeon and/or Battle Brothers. Both are what I would call tactical games with RPG elements, and both are quite difficult, yet quite different. Would love to see you review either, or both. 🙂

I remember when you were debating whether to make this your career while you were doing the Pathfinder: WotR class breakdowns. My two cents was not to. I'm glad I was wrong.

You are nailing it. Congrats. Happy to see your channel get it's well deserved praise and I hope to see you do even better as time passes.

Good luck and may, you to, walk with wisdom.

You are one of my favourite reviewers because you are more moderated/reasonable with reviewing, which makes your points come off more honestly than straight up bashing stuff. Love seeing more of your stuff, take care!

Video game companies need to hire people like you, with similar levels of experience, to playtest their games. You do a great job of pointing out specific shortcomings and how they could have been improved!

Keeping the balance of retro games and new releases is an awesome way of keeping a gamer like me entertained. So happy that I found your reviews on Baldurs Gate, and now I have so many awesome videos left to watch! Will be awesome to follow what's next!

Actually one of the reason I like this channel is because of the absence of negative tone, even over a clearly unpolished game!
