His closing speed was insane. I was staring at Fred and Kishane, but at about 60m I saw that blur from the outside and I knew he took it. Amazing race. Hats off to Kishane and Kerley too

He proved me wrong. Losing that semi might have been the best thing for him. Grueling rounds but steadfast and determined beating a very deep field. A win is a win no matter the margin. Absolutely chuffed for the guy. Now on to the easy part. I would love to see an American double in my lifetime.

As a lyles fan, part of the excitement is not knowing if he’s gonna do it. Then he’s done it. I wasn’t sure until the last metre. Hate him or love him you have to say it was the most entertaining race of the Olympics so far.
