As an Ex-RN ASW Officer there are so many things wrong with that clip, I don't know where to begin.

The story line was that the British sub was commanded by a chief petty officer who turned out to be immune from the virus, and took command of the ship when most of the crew died. He manned the ship with other immune pirate types, so the sub was poorly run to begin with.

As a retired USN operations specialist, I had a good laugh with this series. In short writers will never get the military right unless they were there.

I loved the DD firing four torpedoes (Mark 54s?) in a single salvo. Is this set in WWI or II? Are they firing them down a bearing at surface ships? Nope. Then it’s complete BS isn’t it? I played enough of Larry Bond’s HARPOON tabletop back in the ‘90s to know that you don’t fire acoustic homing torpedoes within a second or two of going full astern like that. The incredible turbulence and cavitation noise would make it like firing a Stinger from inside an operating steel mill and expecting it to lock on to an airplane outside… somewhere. Then with as close as the sub’s Mark 48s detonated to it that DD hull would have been torn open like a shaken up soda can hit by a rifle bullet.

So I guess if you know 0.0% about ASW or even naval combat in general it must have been tense and exciting.

Fighting on land is easy but in Air and underwater it is the most tough. Entire 3rd dimension war in itself is tough. Our soldiers are toughest 😊

The sheer ridiculousness of this season came to a head when a spearfish torpedo hit the Nathan James and started a small fire so they flooded a magazine.

It would have just broken the ships back..

Instead there's a little bang and she says "were hit" yeah that's what would have happened 😐 the first season of the show was so good and it got worse and worse and worse Until the End season when they were blowing tanks up by throwing grenades at them. By then Show had nothing to do with ships 😂

I guess Movies involving submarines are usually not realistic, because they need to make it so visually exciting for the viewers.

torpedoes don't detonate without contact lol, either they end up losing fuel and sink in the bottom or hit. thats it. And why the sub have no countermeasure?
