That is the EXACT verse I'm standing on to get me through nursing school!! Torn between O.R. and women services. 🤔

I agree with this completely! Trying it out is the only option. A great option is to do Patient Flow where you get to float everywhere before settling. For me I had no idea what I wanted to do, then when I floated to the ER I fell in love and it became very obvious that the ER is where my soul belongs ♡ If I didn't do Patient Flow as my first uniy it would of taken forever to find what specialty I belong to.

I'm a new grad starting in the ER AND I LOVE IT!!! in 2 years want to move forward and be a travel ER nurse and then we will see. Thank you for the advice. It is true, you won't know until you get out your comfort zone!!!!

I am applying to nursing school in a few months. My ultimate goal is to a nurse practitioner but I may fall in love with being an RN and stick with that. I've always wanted to work in the cardiac ICU, they've saved my dads life on countless occasions. ❤️

Heading into the CVICU after feeling like cardiac has been difficult for me. I totally relate. I am excited to have the time to learn it and be around experienced nurses.

l like that you said one should not get comfortable. I am doing my nursing preceptorship right now on the pediatric unit which deals with mostly women health and children's health.  I love assessing the young children and making a difference in their lives, while communicating with their parents. It gives me life. I also enjoyed my clinicals as a student on the CVCU, labor and delivery, NICU, MED SURG. l haven't done ER or surgery yet, critical care,  ICU. I think there's so many opportunities in nursing that l might end up loving it better .  I worked with a GI nurse in the surgical lab.... just last week by chance and it was so much fun helping get the patient get ready for surgery. Patients on that floor stay a minimum of two hours and the flow on the unit is so laid back... I actually was surprised that l loved it too. So you are right, maybe l should not just limit myself to women and children, but try other places too. Great video!

Heyy Nurse Mendoza!!! Thanks for the video! I'm in the LPN-RN transition program right now! For me, it's between two different areas, as of right now. I really want to work in the ER or on the Cardiac floor. I'm really good with people and I love making a difference in other people's lives and that's my niche. In the ER, I feel like I could catch people on the front end of things. I feel like I woukd be able to set the tone for the patients for their stay. For cardiac, I LOVE the heart! So I think I would be really good working with that population as well. So many choices! I guess I'll figure it out soon.

I feel like I'm following your foot steps lol. I'm currently doing tele but it's still like medsurg as well. I love critical care and think I wanna do CVICU/ICU but I'll wait a little while longer to gain mor experience under my belt. I love watching your videos cus you speak the truth and I feel comfortable with your advice you give. Keep it 💯

I am looking into infectious disease control nursing. I believe you have to have a critical care background to set you in the right path. I am aiming for a masters in disease control =)

Glad I watched this. I'm an LPN and this May I'll be graduating to become an RN. I've been offered a job in Cardiac Telemetry/Thoracic Surgery unit. I like cardiac I just hope I still like it when I get into it. Ah! So overwhelming! I hated cardiac at first but I also fell in love it and it's so interesting to me
