For all of you wondering most U.S military aircraft’s, specifically fighter jets, have tail hooks installed for ONLY emergency purposes and are to never be used to try to land on a carrier, only the navy have jets that are specifically ment to land on carriers and other jets only have them to land in runways when there’s an error like this.

Around 35 years ago I saw a marine pilot try to land his F15 without putting his wheels down at Miramar in San Diego. He lived.

I didn't know f-15s had arrestor hooks. I thought those were exclusive to carrier borne aircraft and the eagle isn't unless I'm wrong.
