So then the law is really there to reinforce the way people in the past decided would be the best way to run a certain kind of society.
This makes me question whether or not we are actually on the best track.
I think we are on a decent one, and that the law is necessary for a society like this one, but it's only a matter if I value and believe in what the laws are trying to prevent or whatever.
