Thank you, this is very detailed. Take note on this very important step, I was facing a lot of problems on the "Destination File" process and giving a file name. You have to put the extension at the end of your file name, which is ".mp3". Otherwise, your VLC won't be showing the blue loading line and you'll just be sitting there dumbfounded.

Important: Make sure the REPEAT option is OFF in the video playback settings BEFORE you start converting a file. Otherwise VLC will be stuck in and endless conversion loop, asking to overwrite the file, again and again, until you kill the task.

Very good guide, and the best thing is, you can also use this to mass convert 100 files at once... I had a folder with 178 music mp4 and i could convert them all in one go with this method with a few mouse clicks (obviously the converting process took more time)

I had lapsed in my creating MP3 files on Audacity, moving to MP4 performances in front of my Logitech C920. I have a fan-wonderful thing-and she asked for a CD. My most recent MP3 files were from 2020 . . . and I give more definitive performances of several songs in the present. I viewed this video to learn how to convert all those recent MP4 files into MP3 using VLC (a favorite freeware). It was successful and the result is exactly what I hoped for.
