Different strokes for different folks for a new boat of that length with twin 300s very hard to beat the price. Excellent performance 65 nice. I have a 302 Scarab center console twin 250's tops out at 50 also 9'6 width

260 k who wants to take out a 2nd mortgage just to get a boat and 300 gallons of fuel at 3$ a gallon at the neighborhood gas station or 5.69 at the dock times are tough these days only a millionaire would be able to afford this boat most people want boats in the 50-80 k range

It “burns” 1.7 mpg? It may get 1.7 mpg at cruise, it would be burning a little more than a half gallon (.59) per mile, or around 23 gallons/hr at 40mph cruise. That’s very respectable for this size at that speed. (Maybe over 2mpg at 30?)Either light weight materials, efficient hull, or both!
You are right, 28-32 ft segment is perfect for South Florida seas, average 2-3 foot chop and short wavelength, a 30’ runs right across it!
