One of my favorite animals, capybaras. When I was young, I used to visit a capybara at the zoo in Little Rock. The capybara was young, a juvenile, & was kept alone in a cage. We first met as I was walking by, when the capybara whistled to me to come over. So I'd pet the capybara as well as I could between the bars.
When I'd start to leave, the capybara would whistle for me to come back. It was heartbreaking.
They're very, very social & they're friendly to everyone, not just to other capybaras. They live along streams & rivers eating the vegetation there.
If only we could all be so kind and nice as capybaras! Sweetest animals I've ever known.
