Fun fact! If the head female clown fish dies, then the oldest male will become a female and mate with the second-in-command male! Maybe why Nemo's dad was so desperate to find his son.

I’ve had a pair of clownfish for about 7 years now, and even though I don’t have an anemone, they found a favorite spot and started laying eggs in the summer of last year! I was excited that I read a ton about breeding clownfish, and tried my best to raise as many fries to adulthood as possible. It’s a ton of work to raise clownfish though. I labeled each clutch in order of the Greek alphabet and gave up at rho in January, because I was spending too much time and money trying. Even when I was doing everything right I’d have a die off of the fries before or during the metamorphosis phase. Call it beginners luck or something but I was most successful with the first two clutches of eggs when I barely new what I was doing, except for one other one that I named Theta. I used tigger pods the first couple of times in the fry tank instead of rotifers, and I think the fries fed off the baby tigger pods, but then they’d eat all the tigger pods and those aren’t cheap. I finally gave up after my second crash of rotifers. In all, I only managed to successfully raise 10 babies from the fry tank (5 gallon) to their brotherhood tank (11 gallon). I still have 6 as I lost a few juveniles to the tank filter 😢 before I got wise to cover that with a screen mesh, and just lost another because the alpha bullied one to death. Time to re-home the rest, but maybe keep one.

Ummm... I think most who follow you know clownfish are good dads and most likely have seen finding Nemo. But either way, I'll follow anyways!!! 😋
