Frankie never lost his voice, he just hit puberty and grew up so his voice matured and sounded even more amazing

Just came here from watching Why do fools fall in love on Netflix.

It's bullshit that he lost his voice! Listen to his "I'm Yours" album. He was over 18 when he recorded it and his voice had already changed. The notes he hit were phenomenal!! Frankie was a major talent and should have been bigger than anyone at that time. Mad respect for this musical genius!!

I wish when they do biopics they would just tell the real story and stop deciding what we should see

Why hasn't anyone written a book about Frankie yet? A book from one of the surviving teenagers would be mighty interesting.

I was in the Army in 66-69 and had a friend who served with Frankie at Ft. Gordon, Ga. He told me that in the barracks several nights, they would get a bottle of Scotch ever now and then and Frankie would sing for the soldiers. They all thought he was a great guy and great singer. I can remember his songs so well when I was a youngster and remember seeing him in a movie in the 50s.

This is the E network I grew up with. I used to love watching Mysteries and Scandals. Frankie Lymon was a talented young man. It's a shame he lived such a troubled and short life.

They knew the value of his music and acted accordingly. Frankie lost his value to them when his voice changed..but his music was worth tons..

He almost reminded me of a young Gary Coleman; with talent! Such a sad story for a talented young man!

Its sad bc he really needed guidance. He was a soul that needed someone to talk authority over his life. He needed a parent figure. He had to be in a lot of pain bc of all the drug use. Those kind of people are fragile, but essential to life. At least I believe. Rest well Frankie. You reached even us born in the 90s.

Now that I think about it Frankie and the teenagers were like the original Jackson Five. They also made a movie about Frankie it starred Lela Rochon, Vivica Fox, Halle Berry, and Lorenz Tate as Frankie.

I grew up to those Hallmark commercials. Always wondered the amazing voice behind the commercial song. So deeply saddened to hear about his story.

I’m so glad E! produced this series when they did. A lot of people have died since then.
