Pressure on Europe to secure alternative gas supplies increased on Thursday as Moscow imposed sanctions on European subsidiaries of state-owned Gazprom a day after Ukraine stopped a major gas transit route.

EU Struggles to admit defeat. Countries are sharing the gas to Bulgaria and maybe Poland, but they share the gas they buy in Rubles from Russia. The Ruble has hit all time high and EU citizens are seeing shortages and recession similar to WW2. Who is imposing sanctions to whom, I would ask ?
