Probably the most Iconic battle theme in the history of gaming, you could ask a baby where this song comes from and he will straight up tell you Final Fantasy VII.
This theme is that damn good you would need to make Perfection^2 to even have a chance at competing with this Legendary Masterpiece.

Final Fantasy 7 was the game that got me into rpgs and Final Fantasy, and Epic rpgs at that!! I was about 13 when FF7 came out and I’d never seen anything like it, I still remember fighting the first boss in the mako reactor and the first time Cloud does his limit break Braver! I love this battle theme, and final fantasy 7, 8, 9 and 10 are some of my favourite games of all time.

I only played FF7 a little over a year ago and I firmly believe this is the best general encounter music in any RPG ever. I spent hours doing everything this game had to offer and I never got tired of this song. The power, the tension, the pressure, the pain, it's all conveyed in this one track you hear in every standard encounter. And the cherry on top is it's a certified bop.

I love this theme because it sounds like every instrument is fighting, each getting a little crescendo moment of triumph before being knocked down by another.

Just a reminder that Hironobu Sakaguchi called the first of the franchise Final Fantasy because it was his last attempt at game developing before quitting altogether if he did not find success. I like to consider that this song travelled back in time and played in his head and his limit break activated to develop the first game 😂
