Hi Jody, I haven't done any welding for over 25 years but still like watching your videos. Best arc shots hands down, informative direct information without the need to add a street hiphop bass line.

Jody. I just started learning to weld with my mig welder. I’m 56. I learned how to stick weld 40 years ago (not professionally..just around the house stuff.). I now have three sons and two son-in-laws. I’m watching your mig basics videos from 6 years ago then I try to teach my guys. You’re making me look like a pro! I just wanted to say thanks very much. Merry Christmas, brother.

When one-man-band Jody still has better arc shots than the "other guys" ;-)

Really appreciate your 7018 videos. Don't have TIG nor enough lifetime left to learn it. Had a Thunderbolt for 40 years but seldom use it, especially since I've acquired O/F and MIG but now all of a sudden I'm finding projects that stick is the way! NOW have to decide whether to use my AC buzzbox or up my game to a DC machine. Anyway, thanks for presenting lessons on all modes of welding along with tips and tricks. BTW, I can certainly identify with the grinding mode issue. First time that happened I just taped over the grind mode button...you're right, it's bright!

A machinist asked me how you learned to do over head welding without getting burned. I said
"you'll learn real quick if you practice with no gloves while wearing a tee shirt."

I have found that some 7018 rods they are not centered in the flux. We bought a bunch of 5/32" once and over half wasn't centered, we sent them back! Now I always watch for it. If not centered I turn the rod so the thicker part is on the opposite direction your welding. Keeps your weld from spitting out on you. And you can run faster and hotter. Thanks for the video!

Hey Jody just want to thank you for the TIG Finger you brought to the market. I weld stainless and aluminum on MRI machines. My company has both the regular and XL in the Fastenal machine for free and they have saved my knuckles on many occasions. Been watching your videos for the past ten years it seems like. Thank you so much for the tips and tricks to land a career I finally have a passion for. Much respect from Albany NY.

I learned about the side by side 2F vs 4F on the same piece (that I've never seen before on youtube) and I also learned about another way to counter arc blow that I've never heard of before. Thank you for sharing your true wisdom sir. Something I need to tell my buddies about at Thanksgiving tomorrow- is weldingtipsandtricks on youtube ;) lol.
