How to Add Your Captions File to Your Video - Burn-In Captions on Screenflow

Once you have your .srt file made you will need to add it to your video so that you have an engaging video. Here is how I "burn-in" my captions so that they are permanently on the video once it has been exported. The video editing program that I will show this to you on is Screenflow.

Hope this helps. Enjoy.

TY so much for making it a little bit easier for me... Getting those captions in there isn't hard, and is the right thing to do!

Bless you Jesse! That was a great video that really helped. We use DESCRIPT now for SRT files. They are worth checking out. Thanks again.

Thank you so much!! I have sent this morning trying to work out how to burn in subtitles and only got as far as the Import .SRT in Captions in Edit! Perfect! One thing, I am in the UK and we call them SUBTITLES - with captions more for short bits of text. If you add SUBTITLES to your description, you might pull in more UK viewers.

Hey Jesse - thanks for this. I edit all my listing videos in FCPX but I can’t figure out how to get my Rev .srt file burnt onto the video. Maybe I should import my finished video into Screenflow to add the .srt This has been giving me fits!

Is there any way how to remove the black shadow from subtitles, it’s all across canva which is hiding so much content on either side of video bottom

Solved it. What a dumb design by Screenflow to make us take an extra step to show captions.
