I love these old recordings. You can just hear Mr Gould humming to himself as he plays. These days that kind of thing would probably be digitally edited out. It’s so genuine and refreshing.

Of course, Gould recorded the first nine (9) of 'Die Kunst der Fuge' complete, commercially, on the organ, in Toronto, stereo. CBS/Sony - I believe it's still available. I'm not giving up my LP!

What's going on at 27:11 with the attack in the upper voices? Sounds like it's tapered (???) or the wave is modulating a little for a "raindrop" effect....

Menuhin is a little rough here, not up to his usual standards.

What a strange feeling from the combination of Gould and Menuhin. Menuhin's intonation is, to put it mildly, not perfect from the very beginning, not to mention the style, or something is wrong with my ears)

I think Gould is great but someone should have told him to shut up while he's playing, seriously. Instead of concentrating on a great pianist's playing I find myself concentrating on a balding guy's humming.
