Probably the only reason why Salesforce is forcing their employees to return to their SF offices is because they are publicly traded, and own those office buildings. If they don’t use them, it lowers their asset valuations which would hurt their shareholders.

Instead of talking to businesses shouldn't they be talking to families who will get affected by this blanket remote to office decisions? If a family cannot afford daycare or they cannot get a daycare then one member has to quit job. If the member remains jobless for a while they it is impossible for him/her to get back to job especially in todays tough job market. Media persons are interviewing the wrong people and they are promoting the wrong views. Ceo has made enough money to quit his job any time. The businesses will invest in some other places outside downtown where crowd will come.

A great sign for the downtown coming back. Staying optimistic, and not listening to the naysaying armchair quarterbacks who don't do anything for this City. Those people just complain online and are negative without taking any action to improve their community. Pissing in the wind, IMO. You got ideas to make things better for San Francisco?
