I should point out that the values in each row of our first matrix in this video are the same with the exception of their signs. This does not affect the fact that the determinant can be found using any row (or column). If the entry values were not the same in each row, you would still be able to find the determinant by using any row (or column) for the coefficients. I probably should have used a matrix with different values to help make that more obvious.

At about 16:20, I /say/ "entry 2, 1", but I /write/ entry 2, 2. In the work that follows I use entry 2, 2 which throws of both the sign and the numerical value of the cofactor. The answer the second time I do this problem is different because of this error in the first attempt. I didn't notice it was a different number, probably because I don't always make these videos in one sitting.
