She said "her stomach started turning" and "it was weird." That he's asking her to be discreet about him withdrawing a large amount of "his own money" after he presents ID? She's"weird" and ignorant.

She had a problem she could have called a manager instead of the cops

I am so confused by the behavior of the bank teller, she is definitely not the sharpest crayon in the box.

That bank teller is stupid. The man wrote out his withdrawl because it's safer not to say out loud "I want to withdraw $10, 000 in cash". He's being as safe as he can be and instead of recognizing his desire for privacy and discretion, escalates it.

Its sad when you get profiled by your "own" people. I hope she feels stupid now...😑

The teller needs to be fired and charged with some type of crime. She misused resources because of her ignorance.

If he gave her his card /acct # & ID (which he did) she should have been able to see what was in his acct, know he's legit, and should have understood to be discreet & give the man his money. I understand the computer can alert it as a "high risk transaction", but if his money is there, who cares. It's not like he was robbing the place. He simply wanted HIS MONEY without drawing attention.

He didn't want to vocalize his perfectly legal high dollar withdrawal. The teller was inexperienced and taking the transaction too personal or maybe she didn't want to read. There was absolutely no reason to get the police involved.

Reminds me of an incident I had in Sicily.  I received a check for roughly $7, 000 from the insurance company after an Italian destroyed my car and had to go to an Italian bank to cash the check. The teller freaked out and called the carabinari(Italian police), even though they only needed 2 proofs of ID, they asked for my passport, social security card,   birth certificate,   fingerprints, codici fiscali(like an Italian social security number), proof of insurance, 6 proofs of residency(bills, cell phone account, etc), driver's license, ...I just happened to have these documents in my backpack in a binder😎. Nonetheless,   they called my bank, AT&T, the US Consulate,   my employer, and my insurance. This took over 3 hours! I observed others come in and withdraw similar amounts in that time and none of them had to go through that. At the end of the day,   I got my money, smiled at everyone, had a cappuccino with a friend,   and lived to write this post.  Sometimes "Sabraan Jameela" (Arabic for " a beautiful patience ")helps especially when you are being judged by your appearance(I'm black)in this present construct 😎.

Everytime I withdraw a few thousand. They say it all loud. County two time in front of everyone out loud. Than I have to run out the bank hoping I don't get mugged.

Doesn't the bank have an area where the customer can discreetly withdraw large sums of cash? His request to be discreet was not unreasonable due to so many bank customers being followed and robbed.

Name one person who hasn’t gotten an alert or even a denial when traveling if you’ve hadn’t notified your bank that you’d be out of state….
The computer system doesn’t have a pulse. But the teller does. She had his ID and debit card. What more did she need… Then she adds an insult to the matter by calling this gentleman weird…
The cops are also at fault. Pulling their guns on an unarmed person isn’t standard. Cuffing him only further inflamed the non issue. They need better communication training.

She got his ID and bank card and common sense did not tell her to run both ID and card and bring up his account. That was a dumb move on her part.

WE'VE ALL HEARD OF BANK ROBBERS DOING FOOLISH THINGS, BUT I HAVE YET TO HEAR OF A "ROBBER" STEALING MONEY FROM HIS OWN ACCOUNT, USING A WITHDRAWAL SLIP, PROVIDING THEIR PIN AND ID TOO. HAD SHE ASKED OR HAD A MANAGER ASK HIM A FEW QUESTIONS TO ENSURE IT WAS HIM AND NOT AN IMPOSTER, ETC., LIKE WE'VE ALL BEEN ASKED TO DO, THEN...
