How to Find Your Face Shape

We’ve all heard that picking a hairstyle or a makeup technique based on face shape can be the most flattering, but sometimes it’s the simple beauty basics that are the hardest to figure out. We’re giving you some easy tips to help you determine your face shape once and for all. Keep in mind that no one’s face is perfectly one shape—so these are general guidelines, NOT rules. And we’re firmly in favor of experimenting with makeup and hairstyles regardless of your face shape so let this be a jumping off point!

Step 1: Take a picture of yourself straight on, with your hair pulled away from your face.
Step 2: Print out the picture.
Step 3: Place dots at the top, bottom, and sides of your face. Trace between the dots to get a clear sense of your face shape.

Oval face shape: Your face is longer than it is wide. You have a curved jawline slightly narrower than your forehead.

Heart face shape: Your forehead is wider than your jawline. Your chin is pointed and you may have a widow’s peak.

Diamond face shape: Similar to a heart face shape but with a tapered hairline.

Square face shape: Your face is roughly as long as it is wide. Your forehead and jawline are also roughly the same width. Your chin is less pointed than other face shapes and your jawline is squared.

Round face shape: Similar to a square face shape but with a rounded jawline.

When I’m not smiling I have an oval shape but when I smile, my face is a circle 🤦‍♀️

Tip:
Look in the mirror and take a lipstick(or something) and draw around your face... that’s how I found my face shape at 3am

Tip: use a drawing app on your phone. Less hassle. You would not need anything else other than your phone. The best thing is you can make your background layer/picture layer invisible to make the outline of your "face shape" a lot more clear.

I still can't find my face shape: My face is longer than it is wide, my forehead is slightly narrower than my jawline and my cheekbones are slightly wider than my jawline and forehead.
