March is Brain Injury Awareness Month – it’s our opportunity to amplify the voices of those on a brain injury journey. Recovery from a brain injury looks different for everyone. Ryan Welcher, of Plainwell, MI, suffered a traumatic brain injury after a car crash last fall. He spent two months in rehabilitation in our inpatient Brain Injury Program; and after making incredible strides, Ryan headed home in December.

Watch the video to hear from Ryan’s family and his interdisciplinary care team. Brain injury care and rehabilitation is a marathon, and it takes a village of loved ones and experts. Together we share the singular purpose to help patients and their families regain strength and maximize independence.

Amazing to see and I pray Ryan gets 100% back to feeling even better and normal again! I had a similar issue from a motorcycle accident July 7, 2022. I’m not 10 months afterwards and man, it’s amazing. Life over the last 3 months has been fantastic for my brain! I just pray he’s similar to my progress I feel I’ve made!
