I've been so tempted by this stuff. My kid is getting into sculpting lately and I think this would be so useful for learning and practicing with. You sold me on in it. I think either Santa or myself might be bringing it this year...

Monster Clay has been a game changer for me in sculpting figures for my cuckoo clocks. I'm able to sculpt a size in which I can attain detail, then I scan and 3D print any size I want. For the Bald Eagle cuckoo for my Old Glory Cuckoo Clock I could never have carved an eagle head like that at such a tiny size. I came to You Tube to look for tips on smoothing the clay as I'm working on a family for a Stuckey's Cuckoo Clock. Your tips helped me tremendously. I'm so grateful for your video!

You could also try digitally scanning the finished sculpture and doing a clean up in a 3D program. People provide those types of services. Then you wouldn't be damaging your original.

I’ve been using Monster Clay for years and LOVE it. That said, I use a hot box I made with a lamp to warm the clay instead of using a microwave or oven. Because I believe they make it like a soup if you get distracted.

I also use a alcohol lamp for my tools to smooth the clay out for amazing details.
All in all, Monster Clay rocks!

Thank you SO much for this video; I'm trying to decide which clay nsp or monster to try to start to sculpt original mermaid crowns to make silicone molds to pour resin copies and this helped INCREDIBLY MUCH in making my final choice. I learned so much in this one video - your pace and tips were really well done in such a concise period of time. Also, your artwork is original, beautiful and stunning. Bravo! <3

I been using Monster clay medium for a few years now. I make Michael Myers masks and other Horror types. I like that i can reuse it after i take it out of my mold. Saves money .

I worked with monster clay during my art studies. Since then, I am now a digital sculptor of characters for video games. But I was willing to get back to clay so I bought some. Thank you for your video it reminded me I needed to buy a few more stuff to get started ^^' like the isopropyl myristate for exemple ahah

Have you ever tried mixing the hard and medium, or brown and gray, to see what color and consistency comes out of it? I've done that with super sculpey and sometimes get some useful blends for certain types of projects.

Super informative thank you!

Seeing this I wonder why the soft or even medium version exist, right? I mean if you can soften it for molding, don’t you want your shape to hold as much as possible once you’re done shaping? And then if you want to make any modifications you just soften it up again with heat. So it seems like getting the hard version is a no-brainer.

Or am I missing something?
