Do not take Prolia. Many years ago my doctor puts me on Prolia without warning me of it's side effect. Whenmy teeth started to break, without having cavities, I started asking all my doctors if this was a side effect of any of my medications; they all said no. Upon going to an Oral doctor to have some roots taken out (the teeth have previously broken down) I was told that he couldn't do it because my jaw and gums were all damaged because of Prolia. Today I have a mouth full of broken teeth, roots inside gums and I can't even have dentures because of the damaged gums.

Prolia gave me horrific high blood pressure, I'd go to the hospital a few times thinking I was going to have a stroke. The further from my injection date the better things would get then on the day of my injection it would start back up again almost instantly. I gave it a chance 4 times then had to call it quits. I'd rather live with painful compression fractures then have blood pressure issues like that.

I was told to take one of the osteoporosis drugs and only told that possible side effect would be some digestive issues; none of the other potential side effects were mentioned. I decided to not take the drug but the practitioner insisted that I rethink my decision. From what I've read and heard it seems that health care doctors/nurses rarely if it all will tell women about the serious side effects of these drugs. I would advise women that they must do their own research before deciding to take these drugs.

And blasts it also prevents blasts.for forming bone. Which dont recover as fast as clasts do which is why peoples legs just snap suddenly after stopping taking it.

None of this was mentioned when I was put on Prolia. My teeth are now completely rotten and need extraction and dentures.

Been taking it 6 years. Horrible side effects. Edema, weight gain, bone and body pain stomach issues. I have wanted to discontinue many times doctor advice d not to. My scores have not improved that much in 6 years. Rethinking it before next dose.

I took Prolia for 1 year for 6 metastatic bone lesions from lung cancer and noticed r. Jaw pain. Oncologist paid no attention. Dentist recommended root canals. Prolia at 120 mg every month was continued. R. Osteonecrosis of the jaw ONJ was finally diagnoses after it was blatantly obvious. Should have been diagnosed when the pain developed and Prolia stopped at that time.two operations latter the jaw is still closing. One doctor in Dallas is expert in the disease. The rest have no clue. while the complication is rare for bisphosphonates for osteoporosis less than 1% it is not rare for cancer patients on Prolia and multiple cancer drugs 5-10%. Mistake is not titrating the drug and looking for the side effect. I used Prolia to treat prostate cancer in bones for many years and never saw ONJ. However the dose used by Urologists was Prolia 120 mg every 6 mos not every month.

My first dose was 2 1/2 months ago. The ONLY side effect, so far, is a bit of elevated BP which I have meds for. My labs have since shown improvement, I take a total of 4 Citrical tablets each day now, 2 in a.m. and 2 in p.m. I have a top notch endocrinologist managing my treatment, my internist didn't give me any info prior so I now feel I'm in good hands. My co-pay was 20%, $320 after receiving an exception from my insurance which didn't have Prolia in its formulary. I am 83, retired RN. I feel good patient education from your providers is a must!

Does anyone know how low a Tscore drops to?
Also does the Tscore show how severe or what stage(if there are stages)the disease is at?
My Tscore is -3.5, wasn't for sure if that would be severe enough for such strong meds or not? Of course I would rather try dietary and supplements if possible, but I don't want this disease to progress worse.
My dr immediately suggests that she is prescribing an injection?
Any help or suggestions I would greatly appreciate.
Thank you.

Very useful video. Thanks for sharing this.

I would like to share that I know directly a patient who has been misdiagnosed osteoporosis in his 35 years old and was injected with this drug.

The side effects have been catastrophic just by having only one shot:

-Bone pain around the spine and joints
-Severe muscle pain particularly around the legs/thighs
- Weight loss, losing 20kgs weight incapable to regain it
- Neurological issues

Sadly at this point none of the healthcare doctors understand the side effects of this drug and no one seems to have interest in this, thus, this poor gentleman feels condemned to leave indefinitely with this pain without hope to recover from it, just simply because people don’t understand or might say is not related to Prolia since it’s been more than 14 months since the only shot was administered.

I am seeing lots of complaints from people about this drug, however, no stories about how people succeeded and overcame this. Does this happens at all?

Is there any institution or clinic/ medical research interested in fixing this damage from Prolia? I would love to hear some suggestions as this is devastating for this young gentleman.

Thanks for your help! Looking forward to your comments.

P.s : I read the melioguide.com blog, very interesting.
