I'd love to see you do ½ with filler and ½ without a fill. I know they will look very different, but it would be so cool to see the shock factor of a good brown and a greenish mucky brown on the same head 😄

Brad!!! We need a whole video about natural reds! I'm always confused when thinking about dyeing or adding other colors or bleaching.

I went to a professional salon to go from blonde to brown once. He was so excited about the outcome, turned me around, and all I saw was nasty green. I'm normally not the type of person to say something, but I'm glad I did. He sorta fixed it, but literally for YEARS I felt bad and thought maybe it was just me. Come to find out, through watching Brads videos a decade later, I wasn't crazy. It definitely was green. & that guy screwed up by not filling my hair.

I dyed my daughter's blonde hair (natural blonde that had been bleached then dyed back to her natural color) to blue black with pink underneath. I filled the hair with red thanks to what I've learned from your videos and went over with the black. It turned out so good! No splotches and soft. Thanks for sharing your knowledge Brad!

Brad ! I’m a hairschool student and I feel like the girlies need a series about toning and ways to tone with demi-permanent . I loved seeing Shades EQ in this video, because it’s such a versatile and conditoning formula.

Sally’s also sells a generic version of shades EQ I would love to see you try those out.

I'm so glad you did a filling video. So many people don't understand the importance of colour filling. With a level 6 dark blonde or light brown (in some brands) especially a neutral to cool/ashy level 6, if you put on top of blonde (particularly bleach to blonde) hair. Not only is it muddy and hollow. It usually turns green. Like Shrek's balls kind of green. "What are you doing in my swamp!?"

I wish you released this on Monday! I just dyed my natural brown-black hair blonde a while ago and did pastel pink and purple a while ago. Then on monday i wanted to take out the faded dye so I could change it up a bit. I used a color remover on my hair and it turned GREEN where the purple was. I stuffed my hair in a beanie and ran to Walmart to get hair dye to fix it. So, I got an auburn permanent color (filler) and a black permanent color to try and go back to my natural color. WELL let’s say I didn’t know I didn’t need the filler to be permanent, so I ended up making my hair really dry in the end. It’s all still intact just really damaged 😭😭😭

Yes this is why I dye my hair a cool colour whenever I go from blonde back to brunette. Some people think I'm going through a "phase" lol but it's literally just having fun before going dark again - and it fills in the cuticle.

brad honey, you did such a great job on miss mannie quin that it looked like a totally different mannie quin--really beautiful color with lots of natural-looking depth and richness!

Brad I am 60 years old and learned so much following you for the last few years. I love you and how you teach . My daughter keeps asking me what I want and I tell her now that I want some of your products for my birthday. That gloss seems super!. Thanks so much for being always there for all of us.

I have naturally blonde hair, I decided to make it dark brown several years ago. I simply used a light brown box dye, then a darker one after that and it turned out gorgeous. No spots or streaks and the depth looked natural. My bigger issue was the fact that my hair grows super fast and it looked like I had bald spots or gray hair as it grew so the upkeep was horrible. Eventually I had to bleach it and go back to my natural color. Dark roots look fine with light hair but light roots with dark hair ages you so much.

I went from stained, very light blue-ish hair (that was previously lightened before it was blue) to a beautiful level 3 dark brown by color filling using Redken Shades EQ as well! I did two steps: 6AA which is double auburn (and it looked like straight blood, like I had murdered someone and was cleaning it up at my sink). I rinsed, then my next step was 3G. It came out perfectly! A nice dark natural brown! This was all recommended to me by my stylist (I have a beauty license so I can buy shades eq at my local supply store, not every can do this and I understand that).
Brad, you need to make a toner / demi-permanent line that EVERYONE can get ahold of. I haven’t been to very many salon supply stores that sell to everyone (not just pros) that have true demi-permanent color and/toners which would be SO frustrating if I didn’t have a license.

DYED RED TO BROWN is a video I need. Show us girlies how to abolish that red from our strands permanently

I want to thank you so much, I looked at many many videos because I wanted to go back to my natural brown, but I couldn't afford to have someone do it for me and yours was the most informative. I took your advice and it came out great.

It would’ve been cool if you did half of the head with the red fill and half without so we could really see the difference and why it’s important to fill it

Wait, in your second formula - you said you were using 6G + 6GB + 6N, but you only showed us how much 6G and 6N you used. How many grams of 6GB did you use in your formula? And what level was your developer? I need to do a fill on myself, and am currently in the 7ish, brassy orange range, like your model after her first fill. I’m usually a finished brunette like miss Mani Quinn.

I just went from blonde to brunette two weeks ago. It’s a little darker than I wanted for my extensions, but I still love it.
My Sally’s was out of the red color fill, but I just used a demi red instead.
