“You’ll watch an entire Netflix series even when the first episodes are slow just because someone told you that “it gets better” but what if you looked at your goals like that and watched your life get better instead?”

For the last year I have been paying my 15 year old daughter to enter my sales notes into my Notion CRM, detail my work car once a week, and organize the art bench. Best $50 I ever spent.

Matt D’Avella is proud of the biceps task. 2 mins might not be enough but definitely important + urgent

Anything that has more than one step is not an action, it's a project. And you can't 'do' a project, but if you're clear on the next action, then that's what you focus on. This is the factor that differentiates a good to-do list and a bad one. Have a great day!

I find myself going through periods of Crunch and periods of nothing to do. It might be due to my past experiences in restaurants where you have luls between the rushes.

Love the reverse decision making tree that starts with “does this need to be done?”

A lot of times I find myself starting with the assumption I need to do something and only once I’m into doing or delegating it do I realize I should never have started it. It should have been deleted.

Great vid👍

Be careful when choosing to automate. The setup costs of automation are often greater than their benefit, especially if what you're automating away doesn't occur too often or doesn't take too long.

After watching this video I now really want that Thomas gets a 6-figure book deal.

I feel like these types of to-do lists are manageable for personal life. At work, where I manage products and have several projects going, I go through a whole different flow. I spend 30 min on Monday setting goals and tasks for the week to achieve my quarterly goals and ultimately yearly goals. I prioritize what must get done this week and then log any new action items from meetings/ requests. Every morning I look through and quickly reprioritize the day if something urgent came up the day before. This has been working for me for years.

This definitely helped shift my mindset towards all the little tasks I add to my list that “would somehow help my business make more money” but fall into the “any benefit” category. Never thought of applying Cal’s approach to social media to tasks like that. Great video.

Did anyone else hit, "watch later, " on this before getting a crippling dose of self awareness?

I've adapted a variation on this for my own TTD list; it's not quite the same, but close. And it's already made a difference. Took me a week to start setting it up; after that, I've (re)started on three long-dormant tasks that I've had tucked away for a while - one of them for well over a year. Thanks!

Such a valuable framework. As someone with invisible disability and therefore less useable hours each day than someone able-bodied, this type of decision making and task management workflow, along with understanding the true value of my time, is SO IMPORTANT. Thanks for another great video. :)
