Larrys grandpa flew a Bi-plane in WW1...and those are his Goggles. William Wallace Y died early 60s fatal heart attack. His wife, Larry's grandma Ruth Vallerie was born in North Dakota. She never remarried, was a VERY bright, smart woman, very loving, caring and fun to be around.
She never suffered from dementia...we visited her the day she died at age 90.
They had a summer home on Hood Canal, purchased 20 acres on No Shore Road in Tahuya Wash where they spent summers, building a cabin. My husband spent every waking moment out on Hood Canal. Both his grandparents and parents were all educators.
They were very good friends with August Dvorak who invented the Dvorak Typewriter. He took a real liking to my husband Larry and spent time showing him inventions.
Larry was intrigued by all those type things as he too invents things, has a few US patents.
