That's not canon, we know who the Green Lantern that failed to save Krypton is and it's not NPC Lantern #314. Tomar-Re, former Lantern of Sector 2813, tried to delay the planet's destruction as long as possible until Krypton's inhabitants did something to prevent it, but in the end they failed. And we know Tomar-Re is still the one responsible because Zod still gives the Green Lantern Corps shit about his planet's death and calls out Tomar by name

Its proven time and time again different kinds of radiation/cosmic forces affect him in different ways. Some of which can in fact kill him.

The original reason where his planet got soaked in billions of different kinds of radiation, all across the universe when it got blown apart and turned into pieces, makes way more sense.

This isnt a "bad" theory. But this isnt really a good one for the most part.

If this were the his kryptonian tech fuck with him in this sense? Ya most of his kryptonian tech was given to him by his family, while they were on krypton?

If it were BOTH, meaning the screams of his people were trapped in the chunks of kryptonite, while ALSO being exposed to different levels of radiation. That would make more sense.

But JUST the screams of his people affects him from kryptonite? Cut it out.

I always thought it was because Kryptonite was exposed to the red sunlight of Krypton's sun and has properties that cause it to retain and radiate red sunlight as a green byproduct.

Yeah, none of that works in canon. It’s canon that radiation is emitted from it and that’s what hurts him and other Kryptonians, and that’s not the Green Lantern who was watching over Krypton, that was Tomar-Re.

nah, i prefer the magnet theory.
just how like Kryptonian people Cells and DNA made from Kryptonite, that make them absorb energy radiation in many frequencies. such as sunlight(simply yellow one) give them power, red depowered them, and the green aka the light/radiation from Kryptonite has effect to resonate with the kryptonite in their DNA and weakened them because their cells become unstable and lose power and also cause them in pain as result

I could only accept this idea if it was part of its own continuity completely separate from the main universe, otherwise this makes no sense for so many reasons.

1. If Kryptonite was somehow concentrated soundwaves of Kryptons final moments then why did Kryptonite exsist before the destruction? Hell the first Kryptonite ever invented was by a Kryptonian named Kil-Or who made it by irritating rocks with his X Ray vision and slamming them together to cause a nuclear explosion

2. Why does it affect Doomsday? I can understand why Superman or Zod are effected by it considering they are either deeply empathetic or miss Krypton, and I can even understand Power Girl not be affected because its not Kryptonite from her own universe, but why would an emotionless killing Machine at all be moved by the screams of agony of an entire race, if anything it should enrage Doomsday because that would make it think theres people around to kill

3. How is it possible for Kryptonite to power machinery if its just concentrated soundwaves? Lex Luthor and Metallo both rely extremely heavily on Kryptonite powered machines

4. Why can humans like Lex Luthor get cancer from Kryptonite from long term exposure?

5. Why are there different types of Kryptonite? Why are some forms of Kryptonite helpful? Like Platinum Kryptonite, Kryptonite X and Orange Kryptonite.

I heard that the original explanation was that kryptonians were like regular people on their planet hence Superman becomes as a regular man when exposed to kryptonite and not that it necessarily harms him.
