5 Remarkable Fallout 4 Unmarked Locations And The Stories Behind Them

I did one of these for New Vegas, so why not one for Fallout 4 as well!

Discovering a unique unmarked location is one of the most exciting things for me when it comes to playing any Fallout game. I love being able to discover the small stories that hide in the locations that don't appear on the Pip-Boy map.

And while the 5 that I've listed aren't the most obscure locations (heck, you even go to one during a main story quest), the locations I've mentioned are some of the most flavourful and unique in the entire game.

This is 5 Remarkable Fallout 4 Unmarked Locations!

If you liked the video, be sure to share, subscribe, comment, and like!

Other than that, have a good rest of your day! Happy New Year!

Cheers!

Back in early 2018 I went on vacation to Boston and visited all the locations on the Freedom Trail. While I was taking pictures and said to myself - thats the balcony where Hancock gives his speech, thats where the Railroad is headquartered and so on. It took me almost the entire day to walk it.

The most haunting secret spot was a house hiding a glowing one where you follow a series of journal recordings from a radiomedicine scientist testing a precursor to Radaway. She was unknowingly part of the control group and daily dosed with lethal radiation. She documents the effects of radiation poisoning including hair loss, bleeding of the gums, later loss of teeth, etc. When she begged for the experiments to stop, she was told she was legally bound under contract and she had no choice. She died at the facility, but came back as a feral glowing one.

One of my favorite bugs in the game is that if the alien runs out of ammo or loses its gun without dying it doesn’t have a melee animation associated with it. If you want to wait you can just have a silly alien friend with you that just looks kind of upset

You gotta give it up for Tinker Tom. He's likely the one who reprogrammed Pam, he uses the player character to set up data retrieving units all over the Commonwealth, he is the only one who can crack a courser chip and if you go through the railroad he's also the one setting up your teleportation yet he's completely nuts- he thinks the Institute have nanobots in all the food, they're terraforming the world and claims everyone thinks he just high too often but he's the only one to see it all. But he's also likely the smartest guy in the Commonwealth.

I'd love to hear a developer story about Deacon's camp, because the canon for why it would exist should be fascinating. It's been decades since Kellogg raided the Vault, so it isn't like there's a reason to be monitoring from that perspective. Maybe PAM has some dialog that I've forgotten that could've sent him that way?

And unrelated, but if I remember right the alien cave exists prior to the crash and is just empty. If you want to see it before level 20.

I don't remember if it's a unmarked location or not. I think it's close to Sanctuary Hill. There a cabin with a skeleton of a girl and a holotape that ran away from home the eve before the great war. To those that know, knows. To those that don't you should definitely check it out. I think that's one of the saddest stories in the game of how and why that girl got there.

I think the maze was built by a raider that player find dead when you pass the 3 trap door, there's always a wrench spawned next to him, probably killed by his own trap by accident.

I really like the alien’s being included in Fallout lore. They really help that weird 50’s scifi vibe

Nice touch that most of these locations are tied to the Railroad, since they're all about not being discovered

I like how the people in the government were thinking about giving Pam a special body but then said fuck it and slapped her into an assaultron that refuses to assault. And about the alien crash site I was always a bit bugged that there’s nothing you can do after that, like you can’t tell the brotherhood or anyone about the site almost as if your character has amnesia or is somehow stupidity unaware that those organizations are obsessed with technology and that alien tech would likely be a great push through for the brotherhood/institute.

I remember the 4 came out and people were talking about miltons parking garage with videos like “how to find SAW in fallout 4” I love the location it’s just eerie and rewarding and really is just straight up saw. It’s great I love it

theres one more feature about the alien crash thats lesser known, if you activate a nearby signal booster to boost radio transmissions in the region you can hear the voice of the alien sending out a distress signal. This method also provides an alternative way to find the alien outside the blood.

I did kind of wonder if the milton garage booby trap maze was the prototype for the eventual gauntlet in the nukaworld dlc

Hey Norte, this is a great idea for a series. If you can research more unmarked locations in Fallout 4 that have an interesting story then, I for one, would love to see more of these videos.

As always thanks for the great content, Happy Hogmanay (New years eve in Scotland) and looking forward to more fallout content in 2023!

I still think the spookiest unmarked location is the overturned train car. Just south of Oberland Station, there's four box cars that gave derailed. One of them has a hatch in its roof that is hidden behind a shrub. Inside is a small room with a small amount of supplies and a ham radio which just loops the same disturbing message of a woman's last moments

I wish you could customize your map with unmarked locations. With the amount of doors you can enter in cities it’s easy to miss buildings that are unmarked that you are able to enter

the church with friggin weaping angels, that scared me when I encountered it

I was always kinda bummed you can't give the alien a stimpak and get a mini quest sending it back into space, maybe repairing it's ship/taking it to a secret rocket from prewar/ make one of the satellite locations functional for it to call a cab home.
