Most experts agree the stock LS2 Intake Manifold flows poorly and the FAST LSXR 102 flows the best, so the solution seems like a no brainer. Here's how!

Don't throw out that old stock LS2 intake manifold though, it is still worth a little money. 🙂

My buddy has a 2006 GTO with the LS2 and a T56, and he recently did a FAST LSXR 102 to it as well as a Texas Speed chop monster cam. He already straight-piped it, and threw headers on and it's been retuned. As is, it's an absolute rocketship now for being NA stock displacement. I can feel the difference riding shotgun, and it sounds amazing. I'm thinking of doing an LSXR to my C5 z06 soon to help with airflow when running a boost cam that I have to swap in for my A&A kit.

That's a great upgrade.... how about a nice set of American Racing or Kooks long tube headers next? That'll give you another 20 HP and torque bump !!! 👍🏼

I added a fast 102 to my ls2 and love it!

I had no idea the LS2’s intake manifold was so inefficient. It’s cool to see that these cars are still being modded. How difficult was it to learn how to tune? I remember way back it was a big deal and cost more than tuning a Ford. Looking forward to PT2. Thanks for posting.

Like everything else. These manifolds were so much cheaper years ago.

I watched this last night and am watching it again....I'm glad I did, because I just realized that you didn't replace the throttle body. So you can keep the stock 92mm throttle body and it will bolt right up to the FAST 102? Does FAST explain why only that one corner of the intake needs RTV?

I actually bought one of these LXR intakes for my 01 C5 but I returned it. I wasn't sure if I could use my stock parts with this LXR. I was thinking it was a direct bolt in. I wasn't sure with all the research I did so I just returned it. I already had a BBK throttle body and it looked like it wouldn't fit properly. The research I did find out was the factory intake on a 01 C5 was pretty decent to begin with so I just kept it as is with my throttle body and long tube headers/ x pipe. Maybe in the future by watching this video part 1 and 2 I will reconsider buying and installing one.

Great Video. I've liked FAST for many years now. Question- why not go with a larger (102mm) Throttle Body? Anyway, looking forward for part 2.

I would be interested to know how the pedal response feels if you switch to a cable throttle for the 102 vs the DBW.

If you know the oil pressure sensor is the original, it might be worth replacing it while you have the manifold off.

Aside from boost, the only thing better than the Lsxr is a Mamo ported Lsxr which I have

You have to port these, the build quality is suspect on the lsxr and the msd atomic

I wanted to add power but mine needs a clutch and maybe torque tube bearings :(

I’m gonna also swap to the fast intake but I will also swap the heads to LS3 style rec ports, The LS2 heads are very limited & don’t flow well
