Heads, Cam, Intake, and LONG TUBE HEADERS....those headers improve the baseline significantly with the tune...so...the baseline is up there.

Wish the 5.7 had more love..but I understand its more rare than the other sizes. But I'd really like to see a street combo with 243's on it

Save the money on heads, run 706s to up compression and use a 238/242 cam for the same hp. Fly cut and run a thinner head gasket for more compression on e85 for bonus power.

This is coming from someone who has no concept of mechanical insight. This video was fantastic and i followed it all.

Feel like this video shoulda been like a 3 part 20min a piece video. Showing each part installed and then dyno to see what each part made. But nah 3min of wacky waving inflatable arm man with a graph is cool

Why did his ls1 5.7 have more base power than mine? I have 1999 ws6 stock except for longtubes and 4:11 gears?

Stock motors rate 305hp-320hp for the 1998-2002 fbody

That’s a lot of power for a 5.7!I remember when a prostock drag race motor had about the same horse power 🫢

Impressive numbers especially once heads are made in a solid cnc factory 👍

This video references the LS1 crate from an early model Camaro, but power output "stock" does seem high, even with the long tubes and fuel management system on an engine dyno. The LS1 in C5 Corvettes made 350 crank hp in the later models with LS6 intake. Seems more feasible that it's an LS1 with vette cam, heads etc.

Otherwise that's one seemingly generous engine dyno.

I have an LS1 with similar cam specs, 232/236/113, ported 241 heads that flow bench tested better than stock 243s by a long shot. Kooks LTs and offroad Xpipe. Car makes 418hp 398tq at the wheels. Figure 475hp at the crank.

No way that Fast Intake and 102 TB are worth 64 hp.

Calculate HP per ci, and extrapolate out to a 383, it would be near on 600hp. Not bad for an NA LS1.

I'm building LS1 5.7l iron block with forged eagle rods wiseco pistons shouldn't have any problem turning 528hp at the crank and I'm going to drop it in a 1971 international scout Comanche should wake it up a little seeing how the original engine is a 304ci 5.0l turned right around 215-220 hp
