PS Stars Gets Even WORSE

Update (26th October, 2024): It’s been several days since cash rewards first started disappearing from the PS Stars app for millions around the world, and the issue still hasn’t been fixed. As of the time of writing, in the UK, we still can’t exchange our points for PSN credit, and many remain in the same situation. We’ll contact Sony for comment.

PS5 Pro is Out there! + New Pro Patches Out Now

The PS5 Pro patches for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which both went live today, introduce new Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro modes, which provide, respectively, 60 FPS gameplay with the same image quality of the standard fidelity mode through PSSR and all ray tracing features, and 30 FPS gameplay and new ray tracing features, which can be tuned individually to reach higher intermediate frame rates when using VRR and 120 Hz Display mode.

The new ray tracing options introduced by the PlayStation 5 Pro Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart patch are RT Reflections and RT Ambient Occlusion, while Marvel's Spider-Man gets RT Key Light Shadows, which uses ray tracing to calculate sun shadows at mid- to distance, replacing cascaded shadow maps, RT Reflections and Interiors, and RT Ambient Occlusion. The two Insomniac-developed games aren't the only ones that received PlayStation 5 Pro patches ahead of the system's release on November 7th. Other games that were already patched include The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered and Alan Wake 2.

I can't disagree with you more about the PS+ pricing. The fact it's required to play games online is frankly, clown shoes. And then to double the price to $100/year for a basic feature?! Sony... get fucked.

I wished PlayStation Plus was free like it was years ago when it first came out on PS3 It was just an extra if you wanted bonus games every month there was no need to buy it if you didn't want it

You're incorectly assuming that the PS5 Pro label is to benefit consumers.
It's to benefit the brand. A consumer that has the Pro does not technically need the label as they can play whatever.
The label serves as a reminder for non PS5Pro users, that they should upgrade their system. It's to drive sales to the Pro console more so than the games themselves.
Actually detailing enhancements on the box might be counterproductive if the enhanced features aren't significant enough.

The price increase is unjustified. For $800 the console should have come with a pspro controller, 5TB of storage and a blueray drive.

As someone who’s preordered the pro, it’s like a slap in the face having the pro enhanced on physical boxes when we can’t actually use them. You need a disc drive (how was this not included on something that’s cost me £700) and you can’t get one because of scalpers.

I can do without the pro. $700 with no disc drive is not worth it. I have a launch model, and it is still going strong. I opened it up, and cleaned it out last week, which it definitely needed. Thinking about ordering some liquid metal and doing a full refurb. Still I'd rather get a disc drive slim if I'm gonna get a new model. Not too mention we are maybe 2-3 years before ps6, which will probably come with the same hardware as the pro.

I was able to stack 6 years @ $60 a year. Then was able to upgrade premium for 6 years for an extra $100. Grand total was $460 normally $720. Saved $260..
