3 in 1.5 hours seems like a fantasy to me. Very impressive.

What worked for me:

MAKE UGLY DRAWINGS!
I had to get over the pressure of making a nice drawing, so I started sketching with a pen on scrap pieces of paper, with the intention of throwing it out once I was done. This removed all the pressure and allowed me to draw freely. You can always scan/photograph/trace the drawing and make it pretty later if you want to, but you're developing the skill of drawing faster and more freely.

I’m the slowest artist ever and RAN to this video when I saw it in my feed

you are literally a lifesaver. I'm currently trying to get back from a huge artblock i had for years and i really miss the time when i knew less and also cared less. i had way more fun back then, but dreamed of making big projects and detailed portraits and artworks, now i can do it all, but it's soo draining and energy consuming. it's great how you remind us all about the FUN of making art. also really great point about comfort zone! i hate when people always say that you should get out of your comfort zone. there really is a place and time to do so. our comfort zone is something that helps us recharge and feel safe, not stressed. btw great tip about thinking your house can caught on fire every second 😂

I definitely need this after spending 9 hours on a simple character with a simple background and simple lighting👁️👄👁️💦

Every time I try the “don’t zoom in” tip, I forget halfway through and I find myself zoomed in on the tiniest details 😭

feel like this is more for people who see art as a job, if you're just a beginner I REALLY would not recommend seeing art as a job instead of a hobby, it'll really discourage you from drawing, as it's seen more as a chore than a fun thing to do in your free time.

This video came out at the perfect time! I've been perfectionistic with my drawings lately. Sometimes a drawing that should have taken 10 minutes to finish ends up being one that takes hours instead. Staying zoomed out has helped me sketch faster, but now I know even more tips that will really speed up the process.

I really admire how you admit that you are an impatient artist, as an impatient artist myself I too always want fast results and I find it comforting knowing there are other artists out there who want faster results. I feel like many artists don't really open up about being impatient so I'm really glad you're upfront about it :) makes it feel seen as an artist!

As someone who has struggled with perfectionism and slow drawing, my best tip is it not really think about it and just be super loose with your drawing. Don’t spend time trying to make the perfect lines, or keep going back and changing things. I find that when I do things without much thought, my art looks better and a lot LESS FLATT. The key is to honestly just go with the flow.

Your work flow seems very suited for me.
It's also comforting and reassuring coming from a professional like you.
I have always use my sketches as a short cut to get as much done as possible but seeing how other ppl do their art kinda makes me feel like I'm doing something wrong until now so thank you 🙏

Thanks Jackie! It's nice knowing I'm not the only artist who wants to see instantly the final result, and hates to do the lineart with clean lines ❤
Thank u for the tips now I'm gonna go draw 🏃🏻‍♀️‍➡️✏️

I trace over the invisible lines that my brain sees, having that ability and executing it so well, sounds like the most pro artist thing ever, you can really see how impressive Jackie is in this video.

Your vides make me comfortable with getting out of my comfort zone when it come to my usual artstyle and I am so thankful for that because the results are so much more unique

your colors and textures are always so sexy !!
i am, too, horribly impatient, so i'm very quick with my art, but that makes it so sloppy 😭😭😭

I'm a perfectionist and it's always such a struggle trying to sit down and draw quickly and sketch-ly. Even watching your whole process made me feel so anxious, but the end result is something I've always admired and aim for. I'm slowly trying to get rid of that fear, so thank you so much for sharing your art and tips, it's helped a lot!
