You can't help but get large air pockets the way he shoves all those roots in the pot and then add bark from the top. I would suggest putting some bark in the pot first, then the plant, then turn the pot sideways or upside down to fill pockets around the lower roots. Then fill in more from the top. Just my two cents.

You keep calling it soil, to be accurate shouldn't you say bark to keep beginners from getting confused? If they repot it in regular potting soil they'll probably kill their plant.

That’s definitely the wrong way to repot an orchid, specially since it isn’t soil that is used for them. You’ll end up with so many air pockets, that I can’t even believe they allowed you to keep this video posted! This The perfect example of how NOT TO do it!
