Hiii you have uploaded this video on the right time! Ive watched most of the videos you mentioned in the starting just because i saw 'effortlessly', i remember when my grades were falling and everyone i used to watch these kinds of videos because i didn't want to work and was looking for a shortcut. And how you said in the video that 'we all know deep down what we need to do to get straight A's' which is so true because most of the time people avoid doing those things wondering if they'd fit in or not. My friend got bullied because she always used to get A's no matter what and its actually really sad because many kids stop studying thinking it would make them look cool. I relate so much to the first story, back in 7th grade we started doing physics and i knew nothing about it at the beginning we had a really good teacher but after a few months he left, and when the new teacher came i wouldn't understand anything from her and i think one of the main reasons for that was also my carelessness because my classmates used to say 'we will never understand anything she's saying' i started saying it too and ultimately i actually ended up not understanding a single thing while the kids who still studied despite the fact everyone said she wasn't a good teacher got really marks( i love how you focus so much on the mindset!)Also one thing I would like to say is that many students also lack behind when other people say they wont be able to do something (just my observation).

And its actually a really good advice to ask what you did wrong on your test, i usually do that like most of the time but this time i when i got low marks in urdu which i never have, i went to my teacher to ask her what i did wrong, but because she was mad at me (she thought that i was blaming her for cutting my marks) she didn't tell me so when i went home i went through every single word i wrote on the test and made a sperate sheet for all the mistakes i made so I don't make them in my finals.

Amyyy, despite the fact you had those migraines and you still worked hard reminds me the quote 'if you want something you'll work towards it no matter what'. You truly deserved to go to Caltech and get all those amazing results you got for the work and effort youve put in.

Amyyy you are such an inspiration for meeee! I love your videos so much and how hard working you are!

Notes for myself:

- recognize what is not important and don't put too much effort into that
- take every single credit point, they add up
- ask for feedback so you can get it right the next time
- have generous and good friends - they can help you
- think of the worst possible scenario - be over prepared

As an average student, totally distracted by games, I achieved 1st position just by staying consistent and doing WHAT OTHERS ARE NOT DOING. Study from YouTube! Study from websites! Make your own notes! Go through your notes day before your exam!... THAT'S ALL!
❤don't worry your hardwork will pay off❤

When she said “easy to convince the Asian parents to buy something for academics” I felt that😂 as a Tamil person I ask my parents for ap and regents book they gladly buy it or even go to the store to see if they can get it quicker for me 😂

As someone who constantly got made fun of for getting really average/low grades throughout my school life by smart know it all narcissistic classmates, it's definitely been quite the journey getting from a C to a B. I will try harder so i can do well on the next exam! I encourage anyone who is currently doubting their school grades and not reaching the best ones to keep going and not stopping till they get their desired grades!

I think that when people have more activities such as sports, clubs and societies going on in their lives many of them tend to do better because that person realises the value of time (they may or may not be conscious about it). Since activities like soccer practice and tuition take place at a fixed time on a fixed day the person gets into a routine and mentally starts planning their day so they know when to study. I am mostly speaking from personal experience, I have seen the switch in my grades drastically ever since I stopped doing all my activities "to study". I think since we have "time" we tend to push studying back but when you have activities going on you know that you have to complete a task within a time frame. I know this to everyone since everyone has their own preferences. Plus, doing sports does help with many cognitive functions, you get the exercise which does help in improving studies.

Advice for any gifted kids:

I myself am a gifted kid. we don't get taught how to study as we manage to pass early tests without a struggle, but then when we begin to get B's and C's in more important later tests, it can burn you out really quick. If you are still currently getting A's and B's with ease, I'd recommend moving onto the hard stuff yourself at home, so its easier for you when it comes to exam time and you put in loads of work already.

E.g I found maths very easy in year 7-9 (grade 6-8) I was still interested in doing harder stuff so I did it at home. It makes life way easier for me now because I already know lots of things we are studying in class (like pythagorous). If your gifted, don't let school bring you down. Use what you have :)

Advice to remember: 1% of the right effort every day will get you the result you need!

I like that you touched about "not being perfectly healthy, but trying the best". Cuz not everyone of us is blessed with good health but we have to do things we do despite all of that

I simply can’t make excuses to why I can’t be great in my classes if you are excelling in all of yours while having migraines. Shows how much potential we all have. Great video! Very inspiring!

I am a high school student in Italy, and the school system here is excruciating. At my school, we all study 14 subjects at a very high level and go to school 6 days a week. I can relate to so many of the points you brought up, and I'd add that when you have so much work to do, you really need to prioritize. A big part of getting top grades is spending your time wisely and effectively.
I'm a really big supporter of your channel, by the way. Keep it up 🔥🔥

I needed this going into my junior year of high school. Thank you so much. And you're right, this video is very unique and teaches the mindset of being a strong student instead of the strategies to get there. I always love keeping up with your channel.

Thanks Amy! This year my grades had clearly gone down, and the truth is this year I had procrastinated a lot, and I didn't feel motivated at all, and I said that I shouldn't make an effort and accept the grade they gave me, but this helped inspire me to improve the year what's coming! I'm going to review your channel more, to put all your tips into practice, I hope to return at the end of the year with an average that I can be proud of, I can only say thank you Amy! no more excuses the next year!

Your second tip reminded me of my experience with Literature! Just like you, I was able to improve by reading sample essays from other students. I never thought of applying a different approach to other subjects (the one I’m struggling with the most right now is maths) so thank you!

IM SO GLAD I STUMBLED UPON YOUR VIDEO. first of all i love the way you provide realistic insights and not just generic tips. but what stood out to me the most is when you talked about migraines. ive been suffering from migraines since as long as i can remember and it has been always a plan ruiner for me. at some point, it had even become an excuse to get out of doing things that i didnt want to do. only one thought played in my mind " they will always have it easier, so a bad grade on my part isnt actually bad and im okay with it" even if i wasnt actually okay with it. watching you really inspired me since ive never seen any study influencers talk about these kind of chronic problems and how to face them. thank u so much fr.

I love how you talked about your health problem. Studying with any kind of pain is very difficult. I have health issues too, which includes lots of pain and it makes it way hard to study..Kudos to you for bringing that up!
Thanks a lot Amy! Much love❤
