Ford Ecoboost 1.0 Oil Cap Popping noise

preview_player
Показать описание
Engine is making a popping or knocking sound when the oil cap is removed during idling, I never checked this before so I never noticed it. Engine runs fine, car drives fine.

Is this normal or is this an issue? It is booked to go in to the dealership 2 days from now. Will update again when I get a verdict.

Edit: Just came back from the dealership, this is completely normal. They even showed me on a brand new 1.0L ecoboost, does exactly the same.

Found out this sound and the ticking are normal. Now I am investigating a chirping sound. The Ecoboost orchestra is unleashed under the boonet 😅

Hello. I also have a 1.0 ecoboost ford fiesta. This is my first time using this motor vehicle. The engine sound is clicking at idle. Is this normal ? And when I step on the gas, the engine water fluctuates? are these normal?

El mio hace lo mismo en frio, luego con el motor caliente suena muy poco. Es normal. Es importante que no se encienda el testigo de presión del aceite. Cuando quites el tapon, veras el aceite en los arboles de levas, eso es correcto y normal.

Yes sir we dissected a 1.5 to prove it abd confirmed ford erorred with defective head gaskets block and torque value abd the lifter were a bad design flaw wich they later admitted and then corrected with a new block yo address coolant intrusion however were saying it may bot be a major cause for concern but in time could cause damage to your lifters and fail ill will do a video on our findings and send it to you give me a couple days

Thank you but i work for a car manufacturer and did some more research you have a 1.0 we work on the 1.5 and yes its normal as in it occurs in the engines but were telling you that the noise is a bad design and that noise is the valve lifter buckets that you do not hear on the 1.5 or other ecoboosts

For eco boost ANYTHING over 35k miles the oil pump MUST be cleaned by dropping the sump and cleaning the oil feeder screen you’ll be surprised how much of that wet belt is in there . Just my 2 pence not sure if that’s ur noise the car i cleaned engine sounded like a proper train done the pump can barely hear the engine idle after cleaning.

Its the hpfp ( high pressure fuel pump that runs off the intake came. Depending on oil thickness/pressure the sound will change. Its normal

If you would like we can send you a video of what it really should sound like with proper valve clearance

That is a lifter bucket 100% and most likely its your high pressure fuel pump bucket that is easily accessible by depressurizing your fuel line and un screwing the two t30 star bolts that hold it in place to check its ware and i will tell they can be expensive at around 70$ a peice and you will need to get it from ford no where else i will also add that it can be a sign of bad oil flow and worse case senario its a cam lifter wich can be very expensive at a shop but lastley if the high presaure lifter gives you will experience a loss in power and wont be able to accelerate if that happens you will have small metal partical loose in your engine and you will then cause major damage bit you most certainly have a bad lifter
